LanCam Scout Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 19, 2026

LanCam Scout ("the App") is a paid iOS utility that finds IP cameras and NVRs on the Wi‑Fi or wired LAN your iPhone is connected to. This policy explains how information is handled.

Information We Collect

The App does not collect personal data, device identifiers, or advertising identifiers. It does not create an account, does not include analytics or advertising SDKs, and does not request tracking permission.

The App does not upload scan results, camera credentials, video, or any other data to our servers or to any third party.

Data Stored on Your Device

Scan results (IP address, vendor guess, open camera ports, Bonjour/ONVIF names) are stored only in the App’s local storage on your iPhone so you can reopen the last scan. You can clear them in Settings.

The App never asks you to enter camera passwords. RTSP URL templates use placeholders that you copy and fill in yourself.

Local Network Access

iOS Local Network permission is used solely to probe devices on the current private LAN with Bonjour, ONVIF/SSDP, RTSP, HTTP fingerprints, and well-known camera ports. The App does not scan the cellular network or the public internet.

Third-Party Services

The App does not include advertising SDKs and does not require an account.
